Amazon.com has launched its Android appstore in China which is the the first western company to offer a platform for Chinese users to download both free and paid apps.
Google’s official app store only offers free apps in China.Android is Google’s open source mobile operating system.
The move is part of Amazon’s strategy to dig deeper into the Chinese mobile phone market.Amazon, which opened its Kindle e-book store in China in December.
In U.S., Amazon is plaing a big role,but in China it’s a small player in China’s e-commerce market. It faces fierce competition from the local rivals, including Alibaba Group’s Taobao sites and 360buy.
