On December 04th, 2012 Facebook has introduced a feature for its Messenger Android app that lets users log on just your name and phone number, and start messaging your mobile contacts.
People who don’t have the Messenger app on their phone will receive chats and messages you send wherever they log into Facebook.
Facebook is only making this feature available in countries such as India, Australia, Indonesia, Venezuela and South Africa to start.
