Instagram launches Facebook style photo tagging

Posted on May 4, 2013

Instagram has launched a new feature “Photos of You” that allows users to add names to their photographs.

“Photos are memories of the people, places and moments that mean the most to us”,Instagram said in it’s blogpost.

Only the person who uploaded the photo can add people to it.If your photos are public, anyone can see the photo and the person you added will get a notification. If your photos are private, only people following you can see the photo. The person you add to the photo will get a notification if they’re following you.

You can easily remove yourself from a photo someone added of you by tap the tag and then tap More Options. Here, you will find options to remove yourself from the photo or report the photo as inappropriate.

Photos of You won’t be made public until May 16, giving you two weeks to try out the feature and adjust your privacy settings accordingly.
