Amazon has acquired Samsung’s display maker,Liquavista. The technology could be used to create low-power color screens for Kindles.
Amazon also launched its own digital currency, Amazon Coins, on Monday, allowing people to buy apps and games in its app store and on its Kindle Fire tablet computers.
Liquavista works on producing screens that can handle “all lighting conditions” for mobile devices such as e-readers, smartphones, GPS devices, portable media players and cameras.
Liquavista was acquired by Samsung in December 2010.
Recently amazon has acquired Goodreads, a leading site for readers and book recommendations that helps people find and share books they love and also it launched its Android appstore in China.
