Tuesday, October 22 – Nokia introduces its first Windows tablet, the Nokia Lumia 2520, running on Windows RT 8.1 at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi.
“It’s a complete package,” product manager Paul Bischof told. “It takes everything you’ve got in your desktop or laptop and crams all that into a device that’s only 8.9mm thick and weighs a little over a pound.”
Paul explains that the components, including the punchy Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor were selected for flawless performance from the touch-screen OS, without soaking up the battery. “The system is designed to selectively cut down power consumption when it’s not needed,” he explains.
And, Nokia releases a Power Keyboard, a natural companion for the Lumia 2520. It offers a keyboard with a touchpad, and wraps right round the tablet to offer complete protection without needing a separate case. The Power Keyboard also contains an extra battery for up to five hours extra use, plus two USB ports, for whatever other accessories you wish to attach.
On the back, there’s a high quality 6.7-megapixel camera with ZEISS optics and an f1.9 aperture that delivers great low light performance. This is supported by two new apps from Nokia – Storyteller and Video Director.
