Walmart pays more than Facebook to Software Engineers

According to a report from Glassdoor, Walmart is paying more salary than Facebook to the Software Engineers.

The job-search Web site Glassdoor had released a list of “25 Highest Paying Companies For Software Engineers (2013)” based on the self-reported salary data of more than 33,000 software engineers over the past year. According to the results, Juniper Networks leads all 25 companies tracked in the study with an average base salary of $159,990, followed by LinkedIn who offers an average base salary of $136,427.

Interestingly, Software Engineers working in Walmart are getting more salary than the Software Engineers of Facebook. Average Base Salary of Software Engineers working on Facebook is $121,507 whereas Warlmart is offering $122,110 to its Software Engineers.

While Facebook Engineers are getting salary less than Walmart engineers, CEO of Facebook “Mark Zuckerberg” was the highest paid public CEO in the United States last year. The Facebook CEO’s total compensation for 2012 was nearly $2.3 billion, more than twice that of the next-highest paid CEO, according to GMI Ratings, which analyzed compensation for more than 2,000 CEOs of publicly traded companies.
