Posted on November 6, 2013

Digg has launched Digg Video, a video-only section on the site. According to the company, their video tag has consistently been the most-popular tag on the site.

The Digg Video page, like most of Digg.com, is fairly minimal. The hottest video at the moment is given a prominent position by itself. As you scroll down the page, other featured videos appear from a variety of categories.

As with regular articles, viewers can Digg their favorite videos, save them for later or share them through Facebook and Twitter.

“In order to meet the growing demand, we’re proud to announce that we’ve launched Digg Video, a section of Digg solely dedicated to collecting and promoting the best and most interesting video content on the Internet. It’s the Digg you already know and love, just in video form,” says the Digg team.

The company promises that its Android and iOS apps will get the portal in the near future.

About Digg

Digg is a news aggregator with an editorially driven front page, aiming to select stories specifically for the Internet audience such as science, trending political issues, and viral Internet issues. It was launched in its current form on July 31, 2012, with support for sharing content to other social platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.

Formerly, Digg had been a very popular social news website, allowing people to vote web content up or down, called digging and burying, respectively. Digg’s popularity prompted the creation of copycat social networking sites with story submission and voting systems such as Reddit which is now popular than Digg itself..
