Google has bought US high-altitude drone maker Titan Aerospace based on New Mexico.
The news was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Titan Aerospace is developing jet-sized drones that are intended to fly nonstop for years.Google said the technology could be used to collect images and offer online access to remote areas.
Google has been thinking at different ways to bring Internet connectivity to around the world who don’t have access.
June 2013,Google introduced Project loon.In this project it launched 30 balloons above New Zealand to bring internet to remote areas.
Facebook recently purchased Ascenta, a UK-based startup that makes solar-powered unmanned aerial vehicles for $20 million.
