Facebook has agreed to acquire Pryte a Finnish company that aims to make it easier for mobile phone users in under-developed parts of the world to use wireless Internet apps.
“Since we launched Pryte we have worked to reimagine the way mobile data works in an app-driven world, by enabling partnerships between app and content providers, and mobile operators,” the Pryte team said in an announcement.
Pryte was founded in 2013 by a team of telecom and internet veterans with the mission to Let users forget about mobile data and simply enjoy apps every day.
Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
