Yahoo has acquired Bangalore-Based Bookpad, Makers Of Online File Editing And Collaboration Software Docspad.
This follows Facebook’s January acquisition of Bangalore-based Little Eye Labs and Google’s acquisition of Imperium.
Bookpad was founded in 2013 by three Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati – Aditya Bandi, Niketh Sabbineni, and Ashwik Reddy.
“With Docspad, we’re helping to build a web where no one needs to download any document,” wrote Aditya Bandi, CEO and co-founder on his blog.
Docspad supports Word, Powerpoint, Excel, PDF, ODT, ODP, ODX and ePub 2.0, as well as most common image formats.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
