Earlier this year, Twitter said that it had reached a deal with Google that tweets will start to be visible in Google’s search results as soon as they’re posted.
Google and Twitter officially announced on tuesday, “tweets will appear in the search results within the Google app (iOS and Android) and mobile web”.
Google said in its blog,
“It is a great way to get real-time info when something is happening. And it’s another way for organizations and people on Twitter to reach a global audience at the most relevant moments.”
For example, if we are interested in searching latest news about NASA —just ask the Google app about “NASA Twitter,” and in the search results, we’ll see Tweets from @NASA as below
Twitter blogpost says,
“We’re excited to team up with Google to bring Twitter’s unique, real-time content to Google’s search results.”
When tapping on a Tweet in Google search, we’ll be taken directly to Twitter where we can view the Tweet and discover additional content.
According to Search Engine Land, “Twitter tells us that there’s no direct monetization involved. IE, no clicks on tweets at Google will earn Twitter any direct money.”
They both tweet about this feature in its Twitter profile.
