Google has updated its web-based email service “Gmail” with new emoji and more themes. It aimed at making the Gmail to feel just as personal and fun.
Themes have been an important part of Gmail ever since Google launched them back in 2008. It allows you to personalize your inbox with fun backgrounds, and helping you easily differentiate between multiple Gmail inboxes (e.g. work and personal).
Previously in Gmail, we can upload our own images directly, select from our Google+ photos or simply pasting any image URL. Or, if we don’t have a particular image in mind, we can browse our searchable Featured Photos section.
“Starting today there are hundreds more high-res options available (photographed by some fellow Googlers!). And of course, we can always upload your own,” Google said in its blogpost.
Once we’ve found the right photo, we can now use editing tools like blur, vignette, and text background to make your image and messages look great together.
Additionally, now we can express ourselves in email by simply including Gmail’s emojis. Sometimes we just can’t find the words to express how we’re feeling over email. But from now onwards we can include emoji for just about every occasion.
