Samsung introduces a new smart TV payment service

Posted on August 5, 2015

Samsung introduced a new payment service engineered to offer a convenient user experience. The payment service on Samsung Smart TV was designed from scratch to provide an easy and safe payment experience specifically for the TV. It supports major credit cards, debit cards, PayPal as well as other mobile billing options.

Users can complete a payment in just three steps after the initial registration setup.

  • Choose the item you want to purchase.
  • Press the ‘Pay Now’ button, and
  • Enter the PIN (Personal Identification Number).

Additionally, Samsung mobile device users can easily transfer their Samsung account information and registered payment methods (credit card, debit card, PayPal) to the Samsung Smart TV without additional registration steps.

“While Samsung Smart TV users currently have access to a number of exciting content, they will soon be able to access additional premium content through in-app purchases within new and world-renowned games.”

The first set of game titles include:

  • Gamefly Streaming
  • Buddy & Me
  • Deer Hunter
  • Eternal Warrior 3
  • Frontline Commando: DDAY
  • Golf Star
  • Casino World Championship

The Samsung Smart TV payment service also features enhanced security. Users can rest assured that their personal payment information is safe and secure. Samsung teamed up with PayPal to offer a fast and safe payment process, and PayPal users can expect the same level of sophistication when it comes to keeping their financial information secure as they do on a PC or mobile device.

In addition, personal and sensitive information is safeguarded through Samsung’s Secure Keyboard – the world’s first secure virtual keyboard and input mechanism on a TV – when entering credit/debit card information or PayPal password.
