Apple website goes down by showing the message, “Access Denied.” It occurs for the past few hours.
This may be due to the launch of Apple’s new product.
Apple will begin its latest iPhone pre-orders today. On accessing apple.com, you will get this message.
While announcing iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus, Apple said, “Both models will be available in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK and the US beginning Friday, September 25, with pre-orders beginning Saturday, September 12.”
Discussion about this issue on reddit:
“They might be just locking everyone out so the servers have no load when the preorders need to start.”
“Same, tried two different wireless networks, cell network, all browsers all types of devices, but its all down.”
Update:
Apple.com is back. but store.apple.com is still down by showing this message in different languages randomly.
According to http://downforeveryone.com/ website, store.apple.com is down for everyone.
Discussion about apple website down:
Twitter discussion:
“#apple.com Website is backup Now after 2 hrs but store still down. Taken full domain down to launch #iPhone6s sale?”
Reddit discussion:
“This is standard every year. At around 11:59PST/2:59EST I would recommend you start refreshing the shit out of the page. Usually comes back between then and 12:10/3:10. The Apple Store app is actually the best way to order it and sometimes becomes available before the desktop site.”
“exactly, millions of people will be hitting the site all together in the space of a minute. You gotta get that shit ready and make sure NOTHING goes wrong.”
“It’s 2015. There’s no reason the entire backend should be pulled offline to update a couple products. Imagine if Amazon operated that way. You’d never be able to buy anything!”
“It’s partially to build hype. Apple is the king of hype building.”
“For Canada (at least) the app says they’re busy getting the store updated and will be back soon. On the website you can see the main page but links direct you to a “come back in a bit we’re still getting ready” page.”
