A Scientist is developing a Microbes Drink to prevent Diseases

Posted on December 31, 2018

The Guardian has reported that a cocktail of microbes could be given as a yoghurt-like drink to very young children in the future to potentially prevent leukaemia, type 1 diabetes and allergies.

Young children are not being exposed to microbes as they once were, and their immune systems are not being properly primed.

Cancer scientist Mel Greaves who recently received a knighthood, explains why a cocktail of microbes could give protection against disease.

Greaves has been studying childhood leukaemia for three decades. He is saying that a lot of people are getting affected by leukaemia as young children are not being exposed to bugs and infections as they once were, their immune systems are not being properly primed.

Mel Greaves is working on developing a yoghurt-like drink with microbes for giving to very young children to develop their immune systems.
