Google is retiring Meebo Bar to focus on Google+ Sign-In and Plug-Ins

Google has announced that it will be retiring its Meebo Bar publishing tool on June 6 in order to give more resources towards its Google+ Sign-In service and other plug-ins.

Meebo was acquired by Google last June for around $100 million.

Meebo was an early IM pioneer and spun out several other products related to advertising and leveraging social messaging like the Meebo Bar

Creation of new Meebo Bars has already been disabled.Meebo has announced that the Meebo Bar will stop functioning on June 6th 2013.Google recommends that developers remove the inactive code as part of a “general code housekeeping task.
