Wednesday 6th, November – U.S President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle surprised visitors at the White House Tuesday, as tours of the White House has started again after an eight-month break sparked by government budget woes.
Obama and his wife, accompanied by their Portuguese water dogs Bo and Sunny, shook hands and chatted for several minutes with tourists.
People who met Obama were very excited about the surprise meeting.
The U.S. Secret Service which is responsible for protecting Obama and White House, said last March that canceling the tours was necessary so officers normally responsible for securing the tours could be reassigned to other security posts at the White House. That move reduced overtime costs and the number of furlough days the Secret Service faced as a result of the budget cuts.
