E-commerce company, ibibo Group, has acquired Indian based startup “YourBus.in” an online bus tracking and analytics platform.The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
YourBus.in is a GPS-based web and mobile platform, which travellers can use to access real-time information regarding the location of a bus on their mobiles as well as online.
ibiboGroup will integrate the YourBus platform with both its existing online travel properties, redBus.in and Goibibo.com.
“Our key motivation to acquire YourBus is to enhance passenger experience at redBus.in and Goibibo.com, whilst at the same time providing additional technologies and analytics to the bus operators so as to increase their efficiencies in the marketplace,” said Ashish Kashyap, Group Chief Executive, ibibo Group.
“We believe we can potentially take Live Bus Tracking to every bus in India and make it a de-facto feature to all bus passengers and operators. We will be able to leverage the bigger support/network of redBus to achieve this,” said Rajesh Mallipeddi, Chief Executive, YourBus.
YourBus.in was founded in 2011 by Rajesh and Satya and the service is functional in 200 buses as of now.
Recently IbiboGroup acquired India’s largest online bus travel booking site redbus for around $135 million.
