Facebook announced on Thursday that it has acquired secure server technology company PrivateCore.
I’ve seen how much people care about the security of data they entrust to services like Facebook,” Facebook Chief Security Officer Joe Sullivan wrote in a post on Facebook.
“Facebook has done more than any company to connect the world, and we want to use our secure server technology to help make the world’s connections more secure,” PrivateCore CEO Oded Horovitz said in a statement.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
PrivateCore was founded in 2012 Which is based in Palo Alto, Calif., develops software that authenticates and secures server data.
