SpaceX successfully landed the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket at a landing pad in Cape Canaveral on Monday, after launching 11 satellites into orbit.
Reusing first-stage boosters will help lower the cost of space travel and save the expense of rebuilding hardware.

SpaceX has tried this landing twice before. In January and April, it tried to land the first stage of the Falcon 9 on a floating platform out at sea.
